Discovering Concho Arizona

Concho Arizona is an unincorporated community in Apache County, nestled along State Road 61 between Show Low and Saint Johns, the county seat for Apache County. Our community makes a great diverse group of people who are friendly and welcome visitors and new residents alike. Please explore our site and visit our community web pages to learn why Concho is a great place to live, work and retire.

Community Happenings

Website Updates
Over the next few weeks we will be transitioning to a new website with more features and information. Please note that there may be times the website will not be available and we appreciate your patience while we work through this.

Some features will include improved business directory, more links to other organizations and a community forum. We hope that through these improvements, we can provide better services to our residents and visitors, and build up a stronger sense of community.

Concho Community Center Project

Concho CAN has been working hard to provide a community center for the residents. This has been a daunting task met with many obstacles and let downs. This has not stopped the momentum and drive to make this facility a reality for everyone. We will keep this section updated as progress is made and bring updates  to you.

If you don't get the newletter already, please visit www.conchocan.org and donate for a subscription. It's a great way to stay in the loop on all the great things happening here.

Concho Lake Project
The Arizona Department of Game & Fish currently owns the recreational area south of Commercial Drive. This was once a campground with facilities but is now just vacant after vandalism and low water quality. Currently, we have opened dialogue to discuss possible improvements and stewardship of this area for public use again.

The lake suffers from illegal karp and the Game & Fish department owns no water rights to the recreation area. We did ask for signage and will keep communicating with them until we can better assess the need for this area and how we can help. Volunteers are needed to help fix the fence to keep the cattle out of the water. Please contact Dave Cagle at 928-242-9871.
