Concho is a unique place in it's "blank slate" approach which many successful rural businesses and industries look for when creating a new business or expansion in rural America. The whole region in fact has the ability to attract a diverse workforce from neighboring communities as well, enhancing the quality of life not just for Concho, but those surrounding areas as well.
Along Highway 180 between St Johns and Holbrook, The Petrified National Forest attracts thousands of visitors per year, and makes for a great location to attract tourism based industry through successful planning and development. The natural resources and points of interest could be successful endeavors to pursue.
One of the main concerns with any new business is pollution and traffic. Residents enjoy the rural atmosphere and any new industries coming in would be successful in keeping with the rural setting, while increasing profit through use of architecturally sensitive structures that blend into the environment. Business and Industrial parks would be suitable in the outlaying areas along the major artery roads, with community, small retail and residential areas concentrated in the populated areas.
