Historic Preservation in Concho

The section known as Old Concho, or Concho Viejo in Spanish, is the original center of Concho as a trading hub. The early settlers of the community developed a series of homes and stores, a hotel and even a gas station. This past was lost, except for a few buildings that stand today. Historic buildings are windows to the past, that tell stories to the future. The character and charm of historic buildings adds to the fabric of the community itself. When these are lost, so is a part of the heritage of those who came before us.

We would like to encourage residents, property owners, and those who would like to help, to form a nonprofit group dedicated to preservation, restoration, conservation and education of historical buildings & sites in and around the Concho area.
